Early this morning, I was an M&M - a green one to be exact. Now, I'm just a miserable excuse for a disappointed Senior. Our float this morning was classic: the SA officers dressed in 80's costumes. I was an M&M and Sarah was an 80's homecoming queen - big hair and tacky make-up in all. Layne was Spiderman and was shooting webs at innocent children (haha). Tyler was definately dressed up as Scrooge [all too appropriate if you ask me]. Gudge was a rockstar and Cheryl drove the truck with our SA magnets on the side...man it was tight.
I went to SA open house, and Layne, Tyler and I went to the game. It started out well, and then got worse. The halftime show was great [Melanie Booker better play that drum!!!] But the game was so painful Tyler and I went to run errands and came back for Layne when it was over. Well, it's my Senior year and it's Homecoming and We Suck. We lost the game 34-17, and it was brutal.
Texas Tech lost too, hehehe WHOO HOOO. At least there's some justice in the world [that's for you Andrew! :-)]

A Very Interesting Friday: Good Date Story
Well, my weekend has been quite up and down. I went to the homecoming musical on Friday - KISS ME KATE - night w/ Casey (he and I had a fight and since he was a jerk, the evening started out with a boquet of flowers, purple poms MY FAVORITE...KUDOS CASEY...) and it was great!! Tyler's roomate Ben, was great as Frank C. Graham. So, if any of you who see this happen to see him, tell him so. The entire cast however, deserves some serious pats on the back. I enjoyed myself thoroughly... [Casey enjoyed it too, but managed to snicker and wave his fist obnoxiously at the anti-Republican Jokes within the show that only he, I guarantee, caught.]
After the musical was over, Casey and I joined a Frat and his fiance at IHOP for some chow. The food was good and the company was better. All in all, it was a good time.
The good time came to an abrupt end however, when it was time to leave. As I made my way out of IHOP and passed the row of two benches for people waiting to be seated, I encountered my own injustice. About fifiteen anglo-american people in a group, both male and female, snapping, cursing, laughing and clapping at me to "Get them some coffee Senorita." At first, my mind was ready and my tounge nimble - but then I felt the pressure. I felt the closeness of the space and their prowess in number and stature. I froze completely...and stared at them; the room was closing in around me.
Casey appeared just in time to awaken me from my stupor, and get me to the door. Then I started crying. My tears were only interrupted by the amusement in Casey backin' up into an ambulance.
I'm not sure what it would have been like, to grow up in the 1940's, 1950's, or 1960's. I am so thankful that this doesn't happen to me everyday, all day long. This doesn't define the lives of my friends or my parents...thank you Jesus for your mercy in showing mankind to love one another.
P.S. If you're from the City of Abilene, "we don't know nothing about no ambulence...".

Welcome To My Blog
Weeel world, you know what? Everyone else in America has a blog...so I think I should too. After all, I am quite the amusing personality, wouldn't you agree? [Yes, say both of my parents, who are the only people to read this...:-)] Well, I am not quite sure what my blog will be about, except that blogs are usually about nothing. So, mine will first off, be more important than that. Second off, I'm not sure what to call my blog. I thought about callin' it Portratis of Justice. My mom once told me, not to be so consumed with injustice, that I forget about God's justice and mercy in my everyday life. So this will be about the beauty and justice of God in the small things. But, it'll be called "Motion To Consider": OUT OF ORDER!! Because that's what this is, life is, and I am.
AND I LOVE IT THAT WAY!!!
