Law School

I thought now would be a good time to give some general thoughts on law school.

I'm so glad I'm here everyone, make no mistake about it. Pepperdine was the right choice for me and I'm so excited and happy for how I will most assuredly be equipped to Seek Justice here. But that doesn't mean I'm not scared.

Today during our mock class (which was seperated into sections so it was basically our first class) there were all these beautiful girls and scary lookin' preppy guys etc. I've never been little more than unfortunate looking so it always amazes me when I meet that rare beautiful but intelligent female. Now, I can only make assumptions about the true intelligence of these girls since I haven't heard them speak....but this is not an easy school to get into. Then of course there were scary dudes with preppy clothes and big laptops. How will I ever be in the top 10%?

I'll tell you one thing...I don't think I'll worry though. Because Law School is in His hands, not mine. This diploma is for Him, not for me. It's for Him and His cause, His mission, and His purpose for me. As I sit here doing my Civil Procedure I can't imagine doing this AND Hebrew and Greek etc. But then I remember why I'll be doing it all, and it's ok. I'm doing it for Psalms 9:12 "He who avenges blood remembers." The Psalm is part of a trio of Psalms which speaks about the protection of the oppressed that can be found in God. He is their reffuge and doesn't let them down - He's never forgotten them. He ALWAYS remembers.

So many people when given the choice would take the patience of God, or the compassion of God, or the wisdom or sight of God for themselves. Me, I want the memory of God. I want to have the memory that remembers the oppressed. I want to have the memory that realizes they are always crying out. I want hte memory that never neglects them. I want the memory that avenges blood.

I can hear them when I look past the ocean to the horizon. I know they are there...

Give me the memory of God.

I hope to find it here.

Amen.
