Well y'all, yesterday was Friday so u know what that means! Happy Hour at Dukes! As is our usual practice, I drove and Chelsea, Yvette, Dave and Dave went w/ me. We met the rest of our possie there. We took up like three tables. We went home a little early to get some work done because we all knew that TODAY WAS THE DAY WE WERE GOING TO DODGER STADIUM. Heck yes.
Chelsea and Natalie Mellissa and her fiance [????] went to the stadium really early this morning to get the ticket situation under control. Andy, Dave, & I left in Andy's car about noon. We drove there and met up with them. Everyone else was late. It was a great game against the Padres and we won 3-1. It was so glorious. And ladies and gentlemen, I did indeed have the ledgendary "DODGER DOG". Oh man, that garlic/celery salt is GOOD STUFF. I got a free shirt and a towel. The towel's on my wall. Now, although I'm an Astro's fan, along with the Texas Rangers, I think there's room to love the dodgers. They're right there you know? And even though they're in the same league w/ the Astros, Houston will always win so WHO CARES. I guess you could say I'm a Dodger's girl now.

Public Humiliation Sure Does Wonders For A Gal's Self-Esteem
Well, today I was in Torts class, and handling myself pretty well I thought. We were talking about the OPP [or TARP] - the Ordinary Prudent Person - standard and the exceptions for like minded mental illness and no exception for blindness. Anyway, when he asked me to make a note of something and be responsible for reminding him later to discuss something. I replied to him, "Yes Sir". He looked at me and said "You don't have to call me sir" I was really embarrassed. "I'm from Texas sir, that's what we do." He said "ok..." and the WHOLE CLASS STARTED LAUGHING. Then he said, "It just makes me feel so old..." and before I could say a word, my roomate Chelsea pipes up by saying "How do you think it makes me feel?? She calls me ma'am and I'M HER ROOMATE!!!" Then they laughed again. Well, that's all I have to say about California for now.

You Aren't Fooling Anyone Senator Byrd-Brain
So members of the media all all over Senator Robert Byrd's brilliant "yah for the Constitution" day scheme. As part of the appropriations bill passed in December, Senator Byrd beleives that every school across the coutnry should spend time on September 17th studying the constitution. He said "One will not protect what one does not value. And one cannot value what one does not understand." It appears, Senator Robert Byrd believes that if students learned more about the constitution, they would value it more and thus be willing to protect it.
That's funny Senator Byrd. Is seem to recall you voted Against Authorizing the President to Use Force Against Iraq After 17 UN Resolutions were violated by Saddam Hussein. That's cool - you don't understand the Iraquis and thus do not value them or wish to protect them, what about our soldiers? Is seem to recalls that you voted Against $80 Billion Appropriation Bill to Support the Troops. So maybe you need boot camp to expand your value system?

I really love television. I think it's the permament stressor. It is my personal opinion that all the goofy liberals out there who decry television as the root of all evil, were simply NOT allowed to watch anything but Babmbi when they were little. Oh Hillary, you're right you know - the world is a terrible place today; much more so than when the Egyptians were beating the Hebrews and enslaving them, or when the Byzantine empire was ravaging the world. Furthermore, I'm sure Hillary - as Amnesty International clearly told you - that America really IS the worst place in the world, and that GITMO is clearly the most MASSIVE display of human rights abuse this century.
Never mind the child soldiers in Uganda, or the child camel jockeys in the U.A.E., or the diamond wars in South Africa, or organ trading in Latin America. These don't amount to a pile of Tiddlewinks when one considers Islamic terrorists being forced to accept brand new Korans and prayer mats. [No, really? They make they accept brand new prayer mats? Oh the humanity. There is simply no end to America's abuse is there?] But Hillary, she and half of Hollywood would like us to let them go, because we are treating them unfairly. But I have a question...correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't theese individuals PEDESTRIANS? CIVILLIANS I mean...??? They are not even really soldiers. So, if that's true, then how could we let them go? Do we let ordinary American Olympic bombers or snipers or even punk teenagers who hold up convenient stores go? No...so why them? Why should we let them go? I guess she is right though, there is no where else in the world where Muslims are only fed food they can eat, allowed to pray, and given a new Koran and prayer mat for each and therefore, GITMO is unacceptable.
Where can God fearing Christians get a vacation like that for free? I need a new Bible and a chef that knows how to do a good unleven bread and ceremonial wine combo. I'd love to be surrounded by people who would go to Church with me instead of pulling out of my apartment complex early Sunday morning watching all the other cars sleep. Sheesh.

Pain Killers
If suffering is what it takes to earn something good, my law school diploma better be awesome! The ridiculousness of the heavy books is causing my back severe pain. Spasams sometimes. Oh well, I'm almost used to the pain. I do however, need to go and get tylenol today because I found out my Extra Strength Aleve is tearing up my stomach lining.

The Hunt For Red October
Well, life is gettin' into a pattern up here in Malibu. I'm actually IN CLASS right now if you can believe that [I love that wireless network.] My first class this morning is Torts from 9:10-10:10. I have then have Criminal Law from 10:20-11:20. Then I have a break until Contracts at 2:40.
Yesterday while we were in contracts I got called on and did really well. I'm excited. I think I can get used to this law school thing. There are some things that I miss though, like debate. Yesterday the case we were supposed to cover was about The Hunt for Red October [the book]. It reminded me about debate. I used to name my 1ACs random things so that no one could POSSIBLY know what they were about when they saw my xpando. The Hunt For Red October was the case I got my first Nationals bid in college.
Speaking of debate, so did y'all see the resolution? IT'S ABOUT INCREASING HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION. I'm so mad...where was that topic MY senior year. Oh well; I clearly didn't need it to win but it would've been nice.
